our story

where it all began

Our story started on the Oregon Coast.

Long walks with our dog Stella along windswept beaches became a ritual—rain or shine. It was during those weekends away that something became clear: despite the beauty of the coastline, there was a noticeable lack of modern, well-designed places to stay. The experience rarely matched the setting.

So we decided to create what we couldn’t find.

Our initial approach was to develop raw land and place shipping container homes that could be used as vacation rentals. What we found was that demand was incredibly strong—not just from vacationers, but also from longer-term renters.

That made it clear there was a real shortage of smaller, more affordable homes, which ultimately led us to begin building new homes.

We set out to design spaces that felt considered, elevated, and quietly distinctive. Clean lines, thoughtful materials, and a focus on simplicity defined our early work. What started as a response to a gap in the market quickly became something more: a philosophy about how homes should feel.

Through that process, we saw a much bigger need.

Across Oregon—particularly in and around Portland—there’s a clear shortage of new housing. But more than that, there’s a shortage of homes that strike the right balance: modern yet warm, high-quality yet attainable, simple yet refined.

That realization shaped our next chapter.

Today, we focus on building homes that bring together design, sustainability, and livability. Our work is rooted in a belief that good design shouldn’t be reserved for the few. We aim to create spaces that feel elevated without being excessive—homes that are efficient, intentional, and built to last.

We’re drawn to clean architecture, natural materials, and thoughtful details. Every decision is considered, from how a home sits on the land to how light moves through a space throughout the day. The goal is always the same: to create homes that feel calm, functional, and quietly beautiful.

Sustainability is a core part of how we build—not as a feature, but as a foundation. We prioritize efficient layouts, durable materials, and smart construction methods that reduce waste and support long-term performance.

At the heart of it all is a simple idea:
homes should be well designed, well built, and within reach.

From container homes on the coast to modern residences in Portland, our work continues to evolve—but the intention remains the same. We’re building the kind of homes we’d want to live in ourselves: stylish, considered, and grounded in simplicity.

And whenever we can, we still make time for those walks on the coast with Stella.
